At last filming got underway for the feature film trailer Mauler. The location was at the Sebergham Bridle Path in Cumbria 12 miles south of Carlisle. A small crew of 6 technicians and two actors Shawn Williamson (the gamekeeper) and Brendan Evans (the felboy). Filming took around 4 hours with lots of blood tea and sandwhiches. Everyone enjoyed themselves, even Brendan who was covered in lots of sticky blood & looked as though he'd been run over by a double decker bus.

Ann Lewin of Penrith Players donned a sinister looking black costume as she took the part of Lady Dagobert, a powerful land owner, a lady not to be messed with.
The staff and crew struggled with temperatures in the high 20's, actors having to wear dark and heavy clothing. A wind direction change and heavy traffic noise due the good weather caused sound problems. A new location by the river was quickly found .

Being a Bank Holiday Weekend, the actors drew much attention from passers-by in their period dress and when the beautiful horses and carriage arrrived after their 9 mile trot from Carlisle things really got into swing.
John Bispham, Christine Harrison and Rebecca Osborne all played their parts superbly - the horses provided John & Christine with comfortable transport throughout the proceedings whilst the rest of us only had Shanks's Pony to rely on to take us the mile or so along the bridleway! Poor Rebecca had the most discomfort to suffer - sticky blood which attracted the flies, and lying on the damp grass, but being a true pro, the dear girl soldiered on! (Sorry Rebecca!)

The last day of filming - another wonderful day but we were stuck in the vaults of The Rum Story in Whitehaven - maybe it was the heat or maybe claustophobia that helped Roy Beeby play the part of the drunk and aggressive Captain Potter so well, but Frank Cosgrove certainly gave him a run for his money!
